The Haviland Style - Well known for his eclectic, sophisticated and inviting interiors, Martyn Lawrence Bullard is also an avid porcelain collector. His attention to detail and his absolute dedication to quality has won him a number of awards. He has more than 4000 international publications to his credit, including Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, W, Vogue and the New York Times. As soon as the manufacturer Haviland invited him to design a porcelain collection, he was immediately up for it: "I have admired their sophisticated tableware services and unique patterns for a very long time".
For his collaboration, Martyn Lawrence Bullard wanted to create contemporary pieces that would show his influences. "I wish to integrate the geometric shapes of the 60s and 70s that are associated with the tribal patterns, often used in the domain of tattoos nowadays. I have also been inspired by the famous repetitions of the patterns of Sir John Soane at the beginning of the 19th century, as well as the interiors of the Hollywood elite in the 40s."
The Hollywood collection is both very elegant with its polished platinum finish and modern with its geometric patterns.
